Western Michigan University L-Band Receiving Station

In 2004, the Department of Geology, using internal funding from Western Michigan University and in kind support from SeaSpace Corporation, acquired a real-time receiving station. In January of 2005, Dr. M. Sultan's ESRS group started the regular acquisition of NOAA's Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR), Sea-viewing Wide Field of view Sensor (SeaWiFS) data, and MVISR data from China's FY-1C and FY-1D satellites. Approximately 6-10 images of data over North America are acquired daily through our satellite receiving station.  Archival images are being incorporated into a database.

You can search through available data here.
