description:

The Annual Landsat 8 Mosaic Image Service (2013–2023) is derived from the Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) and Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) surface reflectance data. A total of 421 scenes were selected, primarily during the summer months (May–August), to minimize cloud contamination. The dataset includes visible and near-infrared bands (Bands 1–7, 9 OLI) as well as thermal bands (Bands 10 & 11 TIRS). To enhance usability, spectral indices such as NDVI, NDWI, soil salinity, and false-color composites are provided as function templates. Annual overviews were generated to optimize visualization performance at multiple scales. The mosaics preserve the 30m native resolution with additional coarser levels for efficient display. The source Landsat 8 imagery can be accessed through the USGS Earth Explorer portal: https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/
